Angela began her career over 30 years ago as a RN gaining experience in general medicine and ITU, moving into community care as a Health Visitor promoting public health. She has lectured extensively in higher and further education, latterly specialising in manipulating brain chemistry with nutrition to undergraduate and postgraduate students at The University of Teesside.
This led to the expansion of The Cactus Clinic, a specialist treatment and research centre for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and associated conditions. The clinic worked in close collaboration with the Brain Bio Centre in London. This expanded to the USA to work with Dr Paul Cates, a leading Educational Psychologist, where they did nutritional and psychological profiling and clinical treatments for many of his patients.
Angela has worked as a Nutritional Consultant for York Test Laboratories for the last 8 years, where she specialises in the treatment of food intolerances and allergies, she has recently been invited onto the advisory board of Allergy UK.
As a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine and a graduate of the Institute of Functional Medicine, her clinical practice in Richmond, North Yorkshire, Harley Street, London and Stockton-on Tees, follows the functional medicine approach to treating individual differences.
She has lectured extensively, written articles for the popular press and magazines, has spoken on national radio and TV and frequently speaks on BBC Radio Tees.
